The annual Kickoff and Rib Fest started at Three Rivers Stadium and has grown in size and popularity every year. The 2017 festival will once again provide local residents the opportunity to enjoy family-friendly activities and music for free along the constantly developing North Shore.

Pittsburghers will get the opportunity to try food from 14 of the country’s best rib vendors and vote for their favorites. Activities for all ages will take place throughout the festival grounds, including games, rides and Steelers experiences. Each day of the festival will showcase the Steeline Drumline performances, appearances by Steely McBeam and entry into the FedEx Great Hall.

Festival goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Like year’s past, the 2017 festival will also run alongside other Heinz Field events. Fans will be able to join in the fun at the Kickoff and Rib Fest before and after entering the Pitt Panthers’ football home-opener vs. Youngstown State on Sept. 2. On Labor Day, the party on the North Shore kicks off at 8 a.m. for the 2017 Gatorade/Steelers 5K Race, Fitness Walk and Kid’s Kickoff Run.

The Gatorade Junior Training Camp will also take place on the holiday. Starting at 2 p.m., boys and girls in grades 1-8 can take part in a free, non-contact football clinic on the grass at Heinz Field. Registration for the clinic opens on Monday, August 7.
